Every bride dreams about the perfect wedding: the enchanted look of her husband-to-be when she is walking down the aisle, the kiss that “seals the deal”, the happiness of her guests, the amazing decorations, the magical first dance… But the fear that something will go wrong makes some brides wake up in the middle of the night with terrible nightmares!
Bridal magazines are full of suggestions but they are often overviewed – here is my TOP 10 list:
Tip 1: DO NOT GET BURNED!
Yes you are in the Turks and Caicos and you want to enjoy the sun and the ocean, but tan-lines, raccoon eyes, red spots or a fluorescent face will ruin your beauty as well as your pictures. The camera loves women with pale skin, while a strong tan makes them look older.
Tip 2: HAVE A MAKE-UP / HAIR TRIAL.
There are some great girls on island that can help you with enhancing your features (my favorites: Shenique – Sheque Perfection; Jeraldine and Ann – Maxime le Salon; Tamara – Tamie Touch) however they don’t know you and what you are looking for…
Tip 3: HIGH HEELS ON THE SAND – BAD IDEA!
Your Jimmy Choo sandals look wonderful but reserve them for solid ground – there is no way you can “glide” on the beach while sinking into the sand.
Tip 4: DON’T BE AFRAID TO LET YOUR GOWN GET A LITTLE DIRTY
You are going to wear it only once so don’t worry too much!
Tip 5: IF THE WIND IS BLOWING DEAL WITH IT
Don’t wait to be on the beach to realize that your hair or your veil are going to be constantly covering your face. If the wind is strong consider an up-do and fix your veil to keep it at bay.
Tip 6: SURPRISE HIM
You are in the best shape of your life and are about to marry the best man you ever met… get sexy and surprise him with a little secret collection of your passionate self.
Tip 7: SURPRISE THEM
They loved you for all your life and even before you were born… Don’t forget about your parents, and make them feel really special. Remember to share the memories and offer them a special album or your favorite wall print.
Tip 8: PLAY THE ROLE
You are the center of the attention, it’s your day and you can get away with everything you want (well, almost). Have fun and play the superstar: your pictures will be amazing and you will be happy to giggle at them while thinking you simply look fantastic.
Tip 9: BOOK A BEACH ESCAPE
The wedding is over and your honeymoon just began. Don’t let the memories fade in the years to come and sign up for a fun trip around the island to capture your love with a Caribbean flair. It’s an island adventure, a fashion shoot, a beer in the sunshine and a lot of fun.
Tip 10: TRUST THE EXPERTS
You love our pictures, you have been looking at every post on the blog for over an year, you want to have your memories lasting forever… so trust us! “Photojournalism” and “candid” are words that are on everyone’s lips right now but the truth is that most amazing shots are set up… do you really think the groom decided to dip the bride and kiss her neck suddenly?!?
