The site of the new greenbuild studio is on my drive to work (all 8 mins of it!) and out of the corner of my eye as I have been driving along I’ve seen the progress this week as the concrete block has arrived and some pipes and rebar seemingly are popping up above the building hoarding. However, nothing prepared me for the progress the Projetech team had made when I visited the site yesterday afternoon. Read More →
Yesterday was an exciting day – the ground floor concrete base was poured. So now you can start to see the shape and layout of the whole studio. It really is something to see a building start to appear after the months of drawings, conversations and discussions. It’s also a little daunting – did I make the right decisions!! Is it going to be big enough !! Anyway concrete is poured so it’s ALL GO now !! Read More →
I was reading the BBC news website this morning when I came across this news item… it seems that the Pacific island nation of Tuvalu is working on meeting all its energy needs from renewable resources by the year 2020. And the Maldives, another low-lying island nation in the Indian Ocean, also announced earlier this year that it is seeking a similar goal. Earlier today I went up to the site to see what was going on – they guys have really been making progress! Clearance of the site is complete, they have marked out the location of the building and started to put up the shuttering for the concrete foundation, and they have excavated a BIG hole for the underground water tank. When I arrived, the concrete truck had just completed pouring the base of the water tank, and the slab was being smoothed out. Read More →

Slight chaos on Leeward Highway this morning as I was driving to work… It was time for the large mobile excavator to leave the site this morning, having been busy for the past week moving tons of rock, levelling the site and digging a BIG hole for the water cistern. Now that the “heavy lifting” is done, the construction team will be able to start laying out the foundations of the building. Read More →
